 note = {P(論文), Cyclooxygenase-2(cox-2), which synthesizes precursors of prostaglandins, is principally concerned with prostaglandin synthesis in inflammatory tissue. We evaluated the effects of a selective inhibitor of cox-2 on the number of osteoclasts in rat periodontium in non-innflammatory status. In periodontium of rats which received a selective cox-2 inhibitor for 22 weeks, the number of TRAP positive cells decreased significantly (P<0.01) compared with the cell number in periodontium of rats without the inhibitor. This result suggests that cox-2 may participate in osteoclastgenesis in periodontium of non-inflammatory status.},
