The author recently developed a new technique in order to minimize the excessive reduction and compared with a conventional filing technique, the new technique is based on the pulling up operation using flexible nickel-titanium files. A transparent root canal model of s type canal was designed and used. The whole form, the cross section of the root canal model and root canal wall condition of natural teeth after canal preparation were compared between the two techniqes. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In root canal preparation using the conventional filing operation, position of the apical foramen tended to deviate from the original position. 2. In canal preparation using the pulling up operation, excessive reduction was scarcely recognized at the curved parts. 3. In canal preparation by filing operation, excessive reduction was observable at the curved parts. 4. It was found that the condition of the prepared root canal walls were found similar for the two technique. Consequently, it was concluded that the newly developed pulling up operation technique facilitated root canal preparation without excessive reduction and deviation from original form.}, pages = {135--142}, title = {ファイル操作の違いによる湾曲根管の根管形態}, volume = {31}, year = {2004} }
